Zlatko Mijatović, the Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, signed contracts today with 110 business entities selected under the program Incentives for New Investments in Technological Modernization and Quality Standards Implementation. The total value of the signed contracts amounts to 2,652,192.46 BAM, representing a significant increase compared to last year, when the allocated funds amounted to 918,283 BAM.
Through this program, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton encourages companies to invest in technological modernization, business digitalization, and the introduction and renewal of quality standards. The goal of the program is to enhance the competitiveness of the economy in Sarajevo Canton. The Ministry refunds 50% of eligible investment costs, with the maximum incentive per beneficiary set at 50,000 BAM.
Minister Mijatović expressed satisfaction with the level of interest from businesses, noting that the growth in participation is a clear indicator of increased trust in the Ministry’s work and the fairness of its public calls.
“It is a great pleasure to see such high interest from business entities in our programs. This increase clearly points to growing confidence in the Ministry’s efforts and the transparency of our public calls. This year, we have seen a 66% increase in the number of applications, and the number of selected beneficiaries has risen by 62%. At the same time, the allocated funds have increased by 65% compared to last year. This gives us additional motivation to continue working on strengthening the competitiveness of our economy,” stated Minister Mijatović.
In addition to this program, the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton has launched ten more public calls to support the development of small businesses in the region. Small businesses are crucial for the economic development of Sarajevo Canton, as they employ a large number of citizens, drive innovation, competitiveness, and local growth.
“Our support for small businesses contributes to the diversification of the economy, strengthens social stability, and ensures sustainable development across the entire region,” said Minister Mijatović.
