A New Partnership for a Stronger Economy

A new axis of cooperation has been established in Sarajevo, opening up significant opportunities for economic strengthening, investment attraction, and deeper ties with the Bosnian diaspora. The Cantonal Agency for Attracting Investments and Privatization (KAIP) and the Strategic Bosniak Organization for Cooperation and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the Organization’s Congress, held at Hotel Hills in Sarajevo.

The agreement outlines a framework for close collaboration in the areas of investment promotion, development of public-private partnerships, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.

– This agreement holds multiple layers of importance – not only as a channel for attracting capital but also as a mechanism for engaging our diaspora in concrete development projects in the homeland. Such cooperation adds tangible value to every step we take in attracting investments and expanding market reach, said Adnan Jašarević, Director of KAIP.

The partners have committed to continuous exchange of experience, information, legislative solutions, and strategic data, alongside joint participation in business forums, trade fairs, conferences, and workshops that bring together investors, experts, and government representatives.

Special focus will be placed on connecting with businesspeople and entrepreneurs from the diaspora, with the goal of effectively integrating their knowledge, capital, and influence into the development of the local economy.

– Our diaspora holds tremendous potential, but we often fail to fully utilize it due to a lack of institutional connectivity and strategic communication. This Memorandum is a step toward treating the diaspora as a genuine development partner, rather than merely a source of remittances, emphasized Jašarević.

The agreement also envisions enhanced technical cooperation, sharing of expertise, and joint action in third markets where Bosniak and Bosnian-Herzegovinian investors are already active or have ambitions to establish a presence.

Strengthening such partnerships is part of KAIP’s broader plan to build bridges between Sarajevo and the world – not just symbolically, but through real investment projects and institutional connectivity.
