Connecting Through Investment Promotion: KAIP and MIA Establish Partnership

Strengthening economic cooperation, attracting investments, and jointly promoting economic potential in third markets with Montenegro represents an important step and a development opportunity for Sarajevo Canton and the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Adnan Jašarević, Director of the Cantonal Agency for Investment Promotion and Privatization Sarajevo (KAIP), on the occasion of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the Montenegrin Investment Agency (MIA) and KAIP.

Jašarević and Snežana Đurović, Director of MIA, signed this important cooperation agreement yesterday on the sidelines of the Real & Halal Expo business fair in Skenderija. He emphasized that this marks a significant step toward strengthening economic ties and cooperation between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on Sarajevo Canton.

“This document aims to establish an institutional framework for cooperation in the field of foreign direct investment promotion, public-private partnership development, exchange of information, experiences, and best practices, as well as capacity-building support for small and medium-sized enterprises. We are pleased with the high-quality and useful cooperation with our partners from Podgorica and confident that it will be fruitful for both sides,” added Jašarević.

The signatories of the Memorandum committed to collaborate through joint activities such as organizing business missions, forums, fairs, and workshops; exchanging relevant publications and data; and mutually informing each other about investment opportunities and legal frameworks.

The signing of this Memorandum contributes to the creation of a more favorable business environment, encourages direct communication between the business communities of both countries, and facilitates investor access to the markets of Montenegro and Sarajevo Canton.

The Memorandum is particularly important in terms of knowledge exchange and technical expertise, which further strengthens institutional cooperation and contributes to the modernization of investment policies on both sides.

Given the strategic importance of interregional cooperation, this Memorandum serves as a key incentive for implementing concrete projects and initiatives in both the public and private sectors. It opens up new opportunities for improving investment flows and fostering long-term economic integration.
