Establishing connections with European destinations such as Berlin, Rome, Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Copenhagen…

“Routes Europe 2024 in Aarhus, Denmark, is the largest regional gathering in the aviation industry, intended for representatives of the aviation industry who aim to operate to, from, and within the European region.

The Minister of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton, Zlatko Mijatović, together with Vedrana Vikić, Director of the Airport Services Sector, and her colleagues, is part of the negotiating team currently in Denmark. This event provides an opportunity to meet with representatives of airlines to present the incentive measures offered by the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton aimed at establishing direct routes connecting Sarajevo with new destinations.

The delegation has held a series of meetings, which they believe will result in new connections with the Sarajevo International Airport over the next three years. In addition to a significant number of meetings, they highlighted those held with representatives of airlines such as Wizz Air, Eurowings, Volotea, Norwegian, Transavia, Condor, SAS, easyJet, and LOT Polish, as well as TUI, which has already confirmed flights for the upcoming winter season, which will have a direct positive effect on the growth of winter tourism.

The focus of the negotiations was on establishing connections with European destinations such as Berlin, Rome, Stockholm, Düsseldorf, Copenhagen, Paris, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Strasbourg, Verona, Hamburg, as well as other destinations with potential.

“The tourism of the Sarajevo Canton offers immense potential, and we will do everything in our power to pave the way for its expansion,” is the message conveyed by this delegation from the conference.”
