Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Offers Up to BAM 150,000 in Co-Financing for Diaspora Investors Starting a Business in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees, is awarding up to BAM 150,000 per project to potential investors from the diaspora who are launching businesses in their home country. This program is designed to stimulate economic development, attract diaspora capital, and encourage the return and integration of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina living abroad by supporting their entrepreneurial initiatives at home.

πŸ“’ Public Call

🎯 Eligible Applicants:

  1. Investors – Legal Entities (Companies):
    Business entities registered outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose owners or majority shareholders are citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina residing abroad, and who plan to expand their business operations into Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  2. Investors – Natural Persons (Individuals):
    Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina residing abroad who intend to invest in launching a new business entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

πŸ’° Funding Details:

  • The total funds allocated for the co-financing of investment projects under this public call amount to BAM 913,000.
  • The amount of co-financing per investment project provided by the Ministry may range from BAM 15,000 to BAM 150,000.

πŸ“Œ Investor Obligations:

Selected investors must commit to the following:

  • A minimum of 70% of their own funds, as planned in the investment project, must be realized in cash.
    • This must be proven by an official confirmation from an authorized financial institution (bank) regarding the transfer of funds from abroad to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • The transfer must be executed:
    • No earlier than the date of the publication of the public call, and
    • No later than the date of signing the agreement with the Ministry.
  • The remaining value of the investment may be realized through contributions in:
    • Real estate (facilities)
    • Equipment
    • Employee training
    • Company registration costs
    • Licensing/certification
    • Other similar expenses
    (Note: The value of these contributions must be clearly documented with financial records not older than the date of publication of the public call.)
