KAIP to Sponsor the Largest Amazon Conference in the Balkans: Arrival of a Global Giant Encourages Investment

The Sarajevo Canton Agency for Attracting Investments and Privatization (KAIP) will serve as an official sponsor of the largest Amazon Web Services (AWS) conference in the Balkans — AWS Community Day Adria 2025. Scheduled for September 5 in Sarajevo, the event will bring together leading experts in IT, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and the broader tech industry.

AWS Community Day Adria 2025 will gather not only engineers, cloud architects, and AI enthusiasts but also decision-makers, innovators in the field of artificial intelligence, and representatives from global and regional companies — including Amazon, DataDog, HashiCorp, BMW Group, and The Walt Disney Studios, among others.

KAIP Director Adnan Jašarević emphasized the significance of the event following the signing of the sponsorship agreement, noting that this is a major gathering by regional standards. “This conference not only brings together experts and potential investors but also sends a strong signal about Sarajevo’s and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s growing relevance in this high-potential development sector,” said Jašarević.

“Our goal is to support the young professionals who are organizing such an important event in our capital, while also encouraging investor confidence and attracting international interest. Amazon is a global tech leader, and the arrival of its executives and top experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina paves the way for new projects, foreign investments, and ultimately for economic growth, a more favorable business climate, and job creation,” he added.

The conference will be officially opened by Jeff Barr, Vice President of AWS and one of the most influential figures behind AWS’s global success. The event is organized by the AWS User Group Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by renowned Bosnian AWS experts Dženana and Dženan Dževlan. Director Jašarević extended special recognition to the organizers, stating that building connections with global tech giants is a step in the right direction that brings opportunity and attracts investment to Sarajevo.

While Amazon is still primarily associated with its e-commerce platform Amazon.com and its founder Jeff Bezos — the world’s richest individual — the bulk of the company’s profits today comes from its cloud services division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the world’s leading cloud provider.

The conference has already sparked significant interest across the region, with over 25 speakers and more than 500 participants expected to attend.
